The 2020 Junos Are Headed To no

SASKATOON (CelebrityAccess) — The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced that the Juno Awards would return to Saskatoon in 2020 for the first time in more than a decade.

Known as the ‘Paris of the Prairies’ Saskatoon will host the Juno Week Festivities next year, beginning on March 9th and culminating with the 49th annual JUNO Awards broadcast live on CBC from the SaskTel Centre on Sunday, March 15, 2020.

This will be the second time the Junos have been held in Saskatoon, which first hosted the awards gala in 2007 with host Nelly Furtado.

Since the Junos last landed at the venue, the SaskTel Center has seen numerous upgrades, including a seating expansion that allows the arena to accommodate 15,000 fans.

“It is great to once again be hosting the JUNOS—the biggest event on the Canadian music scene—in our city. Saskatoon is a cultural capital of our country, with a vibrant and growing arts and culture scene that is helping to define and shape our community. The events surrounding the JUNOS will be the perfect opportunity to showcase this to the rest of Canada as we welcome the rest of the country here in 2020. I would like to thank the organizing committee for their continued work in bringing these events to Saskatoon,” said the city’s Mayor Charlie Clark.
