Promoters Sue Lil Uzi Vert For $600k For Canceled Concert

TUCSON, Ariz. (CelebrityAccess) Promoters in Arizona have sued Lil Uzi Vert for canceling an Oct. 20 show at the Tucson Convention Center to the tune of $600,000.

Vert, who was nominated for two Grammy awards in 2017, signed an agreement with the promoters Aug. 13 but the convention center tweeted out, day of show, two hours before the 11 p.m. start time that the performance was “postponed” but did not provide another date.

The lawsuit claims Vert “failed or refused to schedule another concert date or reimburse (the promoters) for its expenses,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The suit was filed in Georgia’s Fulton County Superior Court because the rapper, real name Symere Woods, listed his place of business at Means Street Studios in Atlanta.

Woods is dealing with other issues. He claims that his label is barring him from releasing his project and he has a lawsuit filed by the surviving members of the Heaven’s Gate religious group who claim that Uzi used their trademarked logo for the cover of his pending album Eternal Atake, according to Complex.
