Apple Music’s Zane Low To Keynote Music Biz Conference

The Music Business Association announced on Thursday that Zane Lowe is the latest industry figure announced as a keynoter for the 2019 Music Biz Conference program.

The Grammy-nominated producer, DJ, and Global Head of Artist Relations and Host for Apple Music will give a keynote interview on Sunday, May 5th at 5 PM.

In addition to leading Apple Music’s artist relations team for the world, Lowe oversees Beats 1, Apple Music’s global livestream and oversees feature shows hosted by Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, Elton John, Virgil Abloh, Kendall Jenner, Mike D, Ezra Koenig, DJ Khaled, St. Vincent, Lars Ulrich, Charli XCX, Drake’s OVOSOUND Radio, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, Dr. Dre, and more.

Lowe began his career in music broadcasting at MTV UK and XFM, before he moved to BBC Radio 1 where he hosted the New Music show for 13 years. He signed on with Apple Music in 2015.

The conference is slated to take place from Sunday, May 5th through Wednesday, May 8th at the JW Marriott in the heart of downtown Nashville. Registration for Music Biz 2019 is open now at musicbiz2019.eventbrite.com.

Spotify To Remove India’s Saregama Catalog Amid Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

INDIA (CelebrityAccess) – Global music streaming giant Spotify has agreed to remove all works belonging to India’s oldest record label, Saregama, from its platform within the next 10 days. The decision follows a copyright infringement suit against Spotify brought by Saregama and heard by Delhi’s High Court. In the lawsuit, which is available for viewing here , Saregama claims that, although it entered into negotiations with Spotify for a copyright license and permitted Spotify to upload its content a month ahead of the platform’s launch in India, the two parties never actually finalized their deal. Subsequently, Saregama, alleges that it requested Spotify block all of its work on the app, however, the streaming platform had not complied until now. Established in 1901, Saregama is India’s oldest record label and music publishing company.
