Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves Join The Lineup For The MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala

(CelebrityAccess) — Country music legend Willie Nelson, along with Nashville Star winner Kacey Musgraves have joined the lineup as MusiCares honors Dolly Parton as their Person of the Year.

Along with Nelson and Musgraves, MusicCares also announced the addition of Vince Gill, Don Henley, Mavis Staples and Linda Perry to the list of performers lined up to pay tribute to Dolly.

Established by the Recording Academy in 1989, the MusiCares Foundation was designed to provide a safety net for people connected music industry in times of need, including resources and services covering a wide range of financial, medical, and personal emergencies.

Taking place each year during Grammy Week, the event honors a recording artist who has made important contributions to the world of music and demonstrated extraordinary humanitarian and philanthropic efforts.

The organization’s annual MusiCares Person of the Year Gala launched in 1991 honoring David Crosby and has become a key component of the organization’s fundraising efforts and to date has raised almost $97 million for MusiCares’ wide range of programs while raising its profile.
