Push To Ban Helicopters From Stadiums In UK After Crash Kills Team Owner

ENGLAND (CelebrityAccess) The Premier League, the governing body of the Leicester City football club in England, is facing pressure to ban helicopters from stadiums after the crash that killed football team owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Srivaddhanaprabha, who owned Leicester City and famously made the team competitive, was known for using a helicopter to arrive at the games and to leave them. On Sunday, while leaving the pitch from the King Power Stadium in Leicester, his helicopter was seen spiraling toward the ground before crashing in a fireball in the team’s staff car park.

There was an immediate online call to have stricter safety conditions for helicopters landing in and leaving stadiums, according to the Telegraph, followed by a senior footballing figure, speaking on condition of anonymity, that he would support tougher safety rules.

Two members of Vichai’s staff, Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare, also died along with pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz.

A  Premier League source said it was “far too early” to consider whether a review would take place, according to the Telegraph.
