Warner Music Announces Alfonso Perez-Soto to EVP, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

(CelebrityAccess) – Warner Music Group has promoted veteran exec Alfonso Perez-Soto to executive vp of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

This is Perez-Soto’s second promotion in a year at WMG. Last October, he was appointed to the then-newly created position of senior vp, global business development and chief commercial officer, emerging markets.

His previous experience includes 5 years as senior vp of business development for Latin America, Spain and emerging markets, where he oversaw the company’s expansion into those growing regions, as well as a stint as new media director for WMG, a position he held upon joining the company in 2005. Perez-Soto also worked at Telefonica, Universal Music Group and Nokia earlier in his career.

“There’s no one better-placed to spearhead our growth in these areas, which are crucial for the future of our company. In today’s streaming ecosystem these regions are going to become increasingly influential in breaking new artists globally,” commented Stu Bergen, WMG’s CEO, International.

“I’m delighted to take up this new role as we expand our presence in key emerging markets,” added Perez-Soto. “These regions have fantastic local performers and provide a huge opportunity for our international artists. I can’t wait to get started working alongside our brilliant in-house teams and licensees across the globe.”
