Actress Known From Role On ‘ER’ Shot By Police

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Vanessa Marquez, an actress known mostly for her role as a nurse in the television drama “ER,” was shot and killed by police in Pasadena, Calif., Thursday.

Police were called to her home to perform a welfare check yesterday afternoon, according to CNN. Marquez, 49, was acting erratically – having seizures and appearing to be suffering from mental issues, officials told CNN.

There was about a 90-minute attempt to offer Marquez medical help before she armed herself with what appeared to be a handgun and police opened fire.

The object turned out to be a BB gun, investigators said.

Marquez played nurse Wendy Goldman on “ER” from 1994 to 1997 in subplots, some of a lighthearted nature. She also had roles in the movie “Stand and Deliver” and on “Seinfeld.”
