Tokyo Olympics Names Director for Opening & Closing Ceremonies

TOKYO, JP (CelebrityAccess) – The Associated Press has today reported that Mansai Nomura, renowned actor in traditional Japanese theater, will be the chief executive creative director for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Nomura’s family has participated in a form of theatre called “kyogen” for more than 250 years.

Tokyo 2020 also named movie director Takashi Yamazaki as executive creative director for the two Olympic ceremonies, and ad agency creative director Hiroshi Sasaki to the same position for the Paralympic events.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are scheduled to take place July 24, 2020 – August 9, 2020, while the Paralympics are scheduled from August 25, 2020 – September 6, 2020.
