Sasquatch! Music Festival Calls It Quits

WASHINGTON (CelebrityAccess) – Sasquatch! Music Festival is officially calling it quits after 16 years.

Launched in 2002 as a single-day concert held at The Gorge Amphitheatre over the Memorial Day weekend, the festival, which has since become something of a Northwest institution, cited declining attendance over the last three years as the reason for its cancelation.

Adam Zacks, founder and co-producer of Sasquatch!, said in a statement Thursday (June 28), “Today we take a bow and bid a fond farewell to Sasquatch!” Adding, “Sasquatch! will forever remain a tapestry of the people who worked with us,” and “My humblest gratitude to all of you.”

Today we take a bow and bid a fond farewell to Sasquatch! I will no longer be producing the Festival, nor will it take place in 2019.

The Festival began 17 years ago on a hunch, greenlit on nothing more than a name and instinct there was space for something with a uniquely Northwest flavor, on Memorial Day weekend, at one of the most beautiful locations on Earth – The Gorge.

17 years is a long time to do anything. The Beatles lasted a mere 8 years, a fact so astonishing it is difficult to believe. While we didn’t accomplish anything as indelible as “Hey Jude”, the Festival left a lasting mark and proudly represented an independent spirit.

Sasquatch! will forever remain a tapestry of the people who worked with us, the artists who inspired us, and the varied experiences of the fans who attended it … of friendships made, engagements, hilltop weddings, permanent tattoos, once in a lifetime collaborations, weather events both treacherous and magnificent, at least one very public conception, and, of course, hundreds of awe inspiring performances. My humblest gratitude to all of you.

May the spirit that made Sasquatch! so special live on.

MGM Official Notes In Copperfield Trial Report Of Accident Includes No Witness Statements

LAS VEGAS (CelebrityAccess) Risk manager for the MGM Grand Hotel Mark Habersack recently testified in the trial against David Copperfield, who is being sued by a British tourist who claims he was injured during one of Copperfield’s tricks, that he does not know why an incident report on the accident did not include accounts from witnesses. Gavin Cox claims that, during a November 2013 Copperfield performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he fell backstage and was rushed to the hospital, eventually costing him $400,000 in medical bills. Cox was one of 13 audience members who performed in a trick called “13” where he and 12 others disappear from the stage and reappear in the back of the audience. The volunteers were hurried through indoor hallways and an outdoor alleyway to make the reappearance. Roc Nation Sues Insurance Carrier Regarding Jordan Feldstein’s Death

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Roc Nation has reportedly filed a lawsuit against its insurance carrier and is seeking $11 million regarding the death of Maroon 5 manager Jordan Feldstein. Roc Nation, a joint venture of Jay-Z and Live Nation Entertainment partnered with Feldstein’s Career Artist Management in 2016 and took out a “key man” life insurance policy with HCC International Insurance to protect its investment with the music manager, according to  Variety . Roc Nation claims that, after Feldstein died Dec. 22, 2017 because of a blood clot in his let, HCC was slow in evaluating the claim and finally determined the payout would $1.2 million; the policy carried a liability limit of $12.5 million, according to Roc Nation’s lawsuit.
