Deezer Partners With Jazz FM On New Series That Celebrates Iconic Labels

(CelebrityAccess) – According to Music Week, Deezer has today announced a partnership with Jazz FM in honor of International Jazz Day (April 30).

The streaming service has joined forces with the radio station on a new series called ‘Jazz Stories,’ which will focus on the history of five iconic jazz labels: Impulse!(Universal), Blue Note (Universal), Columbia (Sony), Atlantic (Warner), and ECM (Universal).

Each week’s hour-long episode will feature commentary from a different presenter as well as accompanying playlists.

“We’re delighted to partner with Jazz FM to take users on a journey of musical discovery,” said Chris Baughen, VP of content & formats at Deezer. “Every week, fans can learn about the labels behind some of the most renowned artists, while enjoying a hand-picked selection of huge jazz cuts.”

Spotify To Remove India’s Saregama Catalog Amid Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

INDIA (CelebrityAccess) – Global music streaming giant Spotify has agreed to remove all works belonging to India’s oldest record label, Saregama, from its platform within the next 10 days. The decision follows a copyright infringement suit against Spotify brought by Saregama and heard by Delhi’s High Court. In the lawsuit, which is available for viewing here , Saregama claims that, although it entered into negotiations with Spotify for a copyright license and permitted Spotify to upload its content a month ahead of the platform’s launch in India, the two parties never actually finalized their deal. Subsequently, Saregama, alleges that it requested Spotify block all of its work on the app, however, the streaming platform had not complied until now.
