Man Files Complaint Against Concerts West Claiming Rolling Stone Seating Discriminates Against Disabled

NEW JERSEY (CelebrityAccess) A physically disabled man/retired administrative law judge has filed a human rights complaint against The Rolling Stones promoter AEG / Concerts West claiming the scheduled show by the band at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in June discriminates against the disabled.

Michael Boyajian, who needs a walker after falling seven years ago, claims the Stones are charging five times as much for disabled tickets as for standard tickets, according to the complaint filed to the New York Division of Human Rights. Boyajian claims he would have to pay $1,075 for a wheelchair accessible seat versus $200.

“Baby boomers are their biggest fans, and we’re ageing out now. I just want them to make more accessible seating available. I have to use a walker. I have trouble getting up and down steps,” Boyajian said. The former judge also worked as an investigator for the state Division of Human Rights, according to the New York Daily News.

Boyajian said wheelchair-accessible seating was either nonexistent or quickly sold out for the two shows and the available seats for people with hearing and sight impairments were out of his price range and, therefore discriminatory.

Boyajian requests the defendant “provide additional accessible seats at all its concerts” and seeks tickets for him and his wife to one of the Stones’ shows in New Jersey as well as “any civil remuneration.”

Representatives for AEG and the band have yet to respond.
