Louis CK Audio Emerges, Receives Media Condemnation

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) Louis C.K., who took some time off from his red-hot comedy career after he admitted to sexual misconduct, has been reemerging at small comedy clubs to rehearse material, and a recent audio of one has been condemned by the media.

Louis C.K. has made his surprise appearances with the audience having been told to not record the material but, apparently, someone did and his show at the Comedy Cellar in Long Island, N.Y., Dec. 16 has been uploaded to, then removed from, YouTube and portions of it to Twitter. In it, Louis C.K. Riffs on various forms of political correctness, which has been a longtime shtick. For instance, in the past, he has a routine where he talks about the use of the N-word, the term f****t and the term c**t with the callback using them all in one sentence.

Apparently he uses similar terms in a Dec.16 routine but it doesn’t work, at least for Slate.

“Whatever you think about C.K.’s past use of slurs in his act, his old material at least made some attempt to think about what they meant,” writes Matthew Dessem. “There’s no payoff here except for the slur itself: the entire joke is that he’s so mad about not being able to eat ice cream that he’ll casually use it, even with someone who—as he spends the whole build-up establishing—he otherwise likes. It’s cheap and it’s hacky.”

A routine about the term “intellectually challenged” was called “vile.”

Meanwhile,  Consequence of Sound focused on Louis C.K.’s notice that those attending Parkland High School the day of a mass shooting may not necessarily be enough to create national pundits on gun control (“You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot… You didn’t get shot”)

“While it’s doubtful any major TV network or movie studio will work with him again, Louis C.K. certainly seem(s) to be positioning himself for a slot on Fox News,” writes CoS.

A Fox News headline says Louis C.K. mocks Parkland shooting survivors while TMZ called the routine “vile” and “a new low.” Comedy writer Jack Allison compared him to conservative pundit Milo Yiannopoulos. Allison uploaded a portion of the routine to Twitter, which includes audience laughter and applause.

The comedian put his career on hold after he was accused by comedians Dana Min Goodman, Abby Schachner, Julia Wolov and Rebecca Corry of either masturbating in front of them or over the phone. Louis C.K admitted to the behavior and said he would take some time off from comedy to listen.
