Trent Reznor Doesn’t Want Ted Cruz On The Guest List

IRVING, TX (CelebrityAccess) — Trent Reznor threw some shade on Texas Senator Ted Cruz after he told the audience that Cruz had allegedly requested to be added to the guest list for the show, to which Reznor said, “Fuck off.”

The moment, captured on video by a member of the audience and posted to Reddit, shows Reznor pausing during his performance on at the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX on Nov. 27, and asking the crowd how many people had voted for Ted Cruz.

“Who voted for Ted Cruz?” Reznor asked the crowd to a chorus of boos. “See the lights aren’t on, I can’t see. Is there any way to turn the lights on? I’d like to see. Raise your hand, you guys, nothing to be ashamed of, just checking.”

Reznor went on to say that he was asking as Cruz “might be here tonight.” According to Reznor, the Senator had been “bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to fuck off.”

At least as Reznor tells it, Cruz is a fan of Nine In Nails and has been previously on the guest list for shows.

“We put him on a few years ago, he drank all the beer, and was just a pain in the ass to be around. So, I won’t, I won’t hold it against you.”

Cruz, who just retained his Senate seat after narrowly fending off Democratic Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke, is often reported as one of the most unpopular Senators in Congress, but that’s not quite accurate.

A recent opinion poll conducted by Morning Consult indicated that Cruz’s unfavorable rating was just 35%. According to the poll, which was conducted in October, Kentucky Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell holds the dubious distinction of being the most unpopular Senator in America, with a disapproval rating of 52%.

Senator Cruz was unavailable for comment.
